    great…

I see Russo is fishing, but I don’t understand why my name is sandwiched between Matt Naugle’s and Ken Blackwell’s.

The only thing I’m indirectly connected with on the list of “prospective defendants” is Ohio State University… my Alma Mater – Bachelors in Journalism, Class of 1988.

odd demand letter, but interesting… what is Russo’s claim?

    stay tuned.

  2. Jeff Hess says:

    Shalom Dave,

My understanding of fishing in the lawyerly sense, is the dragging in everything and the kitchen sink the hope of finding a smoking gun to prosecute.

My limited understanding of this specific case is that there’s a more focused intent here.

Since I’m not privy to the specific legal strategy at work, I’ll leave Attorney Scot Pullins and Tim Russo to discuss that when they feel it appropriate.

You’ll have to read Russo’s blog for specifics, but my understanding of his claim is that is that a person or persons are using society’s fear and panic as regards all matter sexual for individuals under the age of 18 to circumvent and nullify the legal system and deny Russo the ability to support himself through gainful employment.

    B’shalom,

    Jeff

    whatever…

I don’t make the decisions regarding Russo’s employment, nor do I care to do so. I just post my opinions regarding blog posts that pop-up in the Ohiosphere. If I’m to be pursued legally for posting opinions on blogs, then Russo’s lambasting of anyone and anything should be treated similarly. I personally believe Russo is a pot calling the kettle black in a lot of instances whenever he cries foul.

Regardless, in this case, I had no direct (or indirect) communication with anyone or any organization listed in the “prospective defendants.” I did make some comments on blog posts which can likely still be viewed by the public.

However, I did not screen save any of the comments related to anything to do with Russo’s employment. I have a habit of making my opinions public so public figures, like Russo, have opportunity to refute my assertions as they see fit.

If Russo neglected to comment and/or if he is banned from commenting on certain blogs, then the only person to blame, IMO, is his assinine obnoxious self. I have no sympathy for Tim Russo… none… zero. I don’t care if he lives in his parent’s basement for the rest of his life.

In my opinion, Tim Russo screwed himself from getting gameful politics-related employment on the day he decided to “importune” (solicit sex with a minor over the net). Also, Tim doesn’t help himself by being such a toxic lunatic fringe blogger type.

Tim Russo wants to point the finger at everyone else, yet never take a look at himself in the mirror. His inability to secure employment is NO ONE’S fault but his own… period

    what the hell is “gameful…employment”???
journalism major. no wonder our country is screwed.

  5. Jeff Hess says:

    Shalom Mvirenicus,

Let he who is without typos cast the first stone.

And oh, by the way, you missed assinine.

    B’shalom,

    Jeff

  6. mvirenicus says:

    Hi Jeff,
Asinine was my seventh-grade teacher’s favorite word. She was a nun. I remember the horror we felt that Sister would use such an unclean word to chastise us until she finally explained its meaning about a month into the school year. Thereafter her use of the word was still greeted with titters and giggles. A much simpler time, I guess.

  7. Jeff Hess says:

    Shalom Mvirenicus,

I get the same reaction in my Bible study classes when the 6th graders his the world ass.

But more to my point, Dave suggests a number of important points that ought to become part of our converstion.

Where do you stand on the harrying of Tim Russo?

    B’shalom,

    Jeff

  8. mvirenicus says:

I’m the wrong person to ask about the harrassment of Russo. Just as I’m merciless to my enemies, especially when handed leverage against them, I’m unfailingly loyal to those I consider friend whether my loyalty could be considered rational or not.

I’m in agreement with most of Tim’s politics. I love Tim’s writing ability. I relate to Tim’s “attitude.” I empathize with Tim’s pain and cringe at the torment being inflicted upon him. Would I inflict such torment upon my enemies given similar ammunition? You betcha.

I only know Tim thru his writing, so to call him a friend would be a stretch. I think of him as an ally. An political ally with a similar attitude to my own. Loyalty dictates that I despise Tim’s torment and those responsible for it. Just give me some leverage…

  9. Jeff Hess says:

    Shalom Mvirenicus,

Allow me to ask my question more broadly.

Do you believe in our legal and criminal justice systems?

Do you think that a felon has paid their debt to society after meeting all the requirements placed upon them by a court?

Do you think that vigilantes ought to be allowed to ignore a court’s decision and seek their own justice?

    B’shalom,

    Jeff

  10. mvirenicus says:

Our criminal justice system is a farce. If I were ever facing charges I’d opt for a judgment from the drunken egomaniac with the gavel rather than a jury of my peers, most of whom are dumber than a sack of hammers. What a choice.

That said, the fact that a conviction can still have repercussions for an individual after “paying their debt to society” is just another reason why the “free market” doesn’t work. Tim’s current circumstances are proof. People are generally small-minded and naturally selfish, and it is my belief that strong centralized governing authority is required to protect people from each other, including the vigilantes to whom you refer.

Can these people in Tim’s case be held accountable? I hope so, but I doubt it. Our society places too much value on people’s freedom to be stupid, vindictive little pricks.

    Shalom Video,

First, thank you for stopping in, for reading and, most importantly, for taking the time to leave a link (although an actual comment would have been much better). Building a community is all about our conversations.

    Two quick questions.

First, if you’re doing it right, why don’t you put your name on it? I’m proud of what I do. That’s why I put my name on my blog. You should try it sometime.

Second, ad hominen attacks do you no credit. Can you argue your case from the facts in contention?

  16. Jeff Hess says:

[Yet another anonymous blogger coward has chosen to spread the ad hominen attacks on Tim Russo in an attempt to distract attention from the very real issue of racial bigotry within the ranks of the supporters of Republican presidential and vice presidential candidates,John McCain and Sarah Palin.]

Here’s the comment I left at their blog.

    Shalom Anonymous,

That Tim Russo was guilty of a fifth-degree felony, the lowest possible, put on a one-year probation, the lightest sentence possible, that the judge later reduced to four months. Russo was never labeled a sexual predator or required to register as a sex offender is available on Russo’s own blog. Those are the facts.

Having said that, can we have a discussion about the actions of the McCain/Palin supporters in the video shot by Russo, as well as the people in the growing number of similar videos rapidly appearing on YouTube? The people in the video have no idea who Russo is so his history can have had no influence on their behavior.

Do you think their behavior is appropriate for law-abiding, free citizens of our United States of America?

That is after all what is on the table here, ad hominen attacks notwithstanding.

    B’shalom,

    Jeff

    I repeat, coward! Coward! Coward!
