CAN I EVER UNDERSTAND THE IRISH…?
October 7th, 20120742: Woolf tours Ireland
I asked Adam Harvey last evening why it is that the ony ethnic/national group honored as a sport mascot is the Irish.
He went to Notre Dame.
He didn’t know.

The real writer is one who really writes. Talent is an invention like phlogiston after the fact of fire. Work is its own cure. Semininoles ?
Flying Dutchmen ?
Good morning Susan,
First, thank you for stopping in, for reading and, most importantly, for taking the time to enter the discussion. We build our communities with our conversations.
I may give you the Flying Dutchmen, although I think the name is more associated with the maritime legend than people from Holland/The Netherlands.
Adam and I did talk about the Seminoles and I suggested that, as a First People’s tribal designation the name might be considered a subcategory of the ethnic/nationality designation, but I thought it off target for what I was thinking.
Upon reflection, however, I can see the sense of including the Seminoles.
Do all you can to make today a good day,
Jeff
