WHAT DO WE DO WHEN…
July 19th, 2012…the suspected suicide bomber is:
a long-haired Caucasian in sportswear… [with] a U.S. driver’s license issued in Michigan – apparently fake?
Are we prepared to start profiling long-haired Caucasians in sportswear with driver’s licenses from Michigan?
Hmmmm…?

I blogged about it years ago but John Boehner and others had this whole set of legislation related to rooting out seeds of terror being planted domestically and then, when the group studying this and making recommendations indicated that people who sound and look like conservatives might also be people who should be watched, not just the people that Boehner and his allies thought should be watched (aka Muslims, etc.), the efforts were stopped.
I’d also say – let’s wait and see what additional info comes out of the investigation in Bulgaria. Who on earth knows what convoluted set of circumstances and information we will be told versus what may be the full story.
Good morning Jill,
That’s true, you’re absolutely correct. Sane, reasonable political leaders would:wait and see what additional info comes out of the investigation in Bulgaria.Instead, it was a New York minute before not so sane and reasonable political leaders were beating the Iran, Iran, Iran drum.
Listening to NPR this morning I wanted to reach through the radio and strangle host Steve Inskeep and and Lourdes Garcia-Navarro, the correspondent in Bulgaria, because they kept dancing around the description of the suspected bomber, giving all the known details except the crucial one: that he appears in the videos to be of European and not Middle Eastern heritage.
Do all you can to make today a good day,
Jeff
