INVADING IRAQ WAS A MOVIE MOMENT…?
March 10th, 2007[Update -- 12 March -- Andrew adds Bob Novak to the mix.]
Andrew Sullivan this morning gives a nod of agreement to Dinesh D’Souza’s hypothesis that President George Bush sent American men and women into harm’s way; to suffer, be wounded and die in Iraq because he wanted to mimic John Wayne as the new sheriff in town. But he forgets Iraq was in the cards before 11 September.
And I thought I was cynical.

A nod of agreement? Did you not read the final sentence in his post? He thinks D’Souza’s rationale is ludicrous.
Shalom Baloo,
First, thank you for stopping in, for reading and, most importantly, for taking the time to leave a comment. It’s all about the conversation.
Yes, I did read all of Andrew’s post. And perhaps the irony got stretched too thinly between the two of us. Or perhaps we really do have a frat boy in the oval office who watched too many John Wayne movies.
He said: A “demonstration project”. Suddenly, the otherwise mystifyingly troop-free war-plan makes more sense, doesn’t it? And,
I said: And I thought I was cynical.
I’ll leave it to the people who elected him — twice — to sort it all out.
B’shalom,
Jeff
