   Shalom Y’all,

   First, Byrne is a much better musician than he is a speaker. If a person I didn’t know were to deliver this speech, I probably would not have listened to it.

   Second, what this makes me ponder is: is there a similar effect to be found in writing?

   I think so. We talk a great deal about summer or beach reading and there are winter, fireside novels to be read as well. Are beach books different from airport books? Could you, would you read Dickens on the subway? Does Hemingway work best in a cafe?

   What do you think?
